Privacy Policy
This page explains what data Subzillo collects, why we collect it, and the rights you have over your information. We default to collecting the minimum amount of data necessary to provide the service.
1. Who we are
Subzillo is an AI-powered subscription management product. When this policy refers to "we", "us" or "Subzillo", it means the company that operates the Subzillo apps, web app and browser extensions.
2. What we collect
To run the service we collect a small set of categories:
- Account data — your name, email, country and chosen plan.
- Subscription data you add — the names, prices, renewal dates and categories of the subscriptions you track. You control what goes in.
- Connected sources (optional) — if you choose to connect Gmail, Outlook or a bank statement scanner, we use those signals only to identify recurring charges. How we handle data from your Google Account is described in detail in section 3.
- Usage telemetry — basic, anonymised metrics about which features you use so we can prioritise improvements.
- Waitlist signup data — when you join the early-access waitlist we store your email address, your IP address, and the approximate location (country and city) derived from it, along with the page that referred you and the time you signed up. The IP address is sent to ip-api.com solely to resolve that approximate location; we use it to understand which regions to launch in first, and it is never used to identify you personally or shared for advertising.
Your passwords for third-party services (the AI Browser handles those on-device only), your full browsing history, contact lists, or any data not directly required to manage subscriptions.
3. Google user data & AI processing
This section explains how Subzillo accesses, uses, stores and shares data from your Google Account when you choose to connect Gmail, and how artificial intelligence is involved. It applies in addition to the rest of this policy.
What we access
- Connecting Gmail is optional. Subzillo only accesses your Gmail after you explicitly grant permission on Google's consent screen.
- Access is read-only. Subzillo cannot send, delete, move, label or otherwise modify your emails.
- We look only for messages related to your subscriptions — purchase receipts, renewal notices, billing confirmations and trial reminders — and extract details such as the service name, price, currency, billing cycle and renewal date. Messages that are not subscription-related are ignored; we do not analyse or store them.
How we use it
- We use Google user data only to provide and improve the user-facing features of Subzillo: detecting your subscriptions, showing your spending and renewal dates, and sending you renewal reminders.
- Email scanning runs on Subzillo's secure backend servers, not on your device.
- The AI agent that cancels, upgrades or downgrades subscriptions on your behalf is a separate feature that runs on your phone, and your third-party passwords never leave your device.
How AI is used
- Automated systems, including AI models, read the subscription-related messages identified above in order to extract and categorise their subscription details. This happens automatically and only to provide the feature to you.
- We do not use Google user data, or any data obtained through Google Workspace APIs, to develop, improve or train generalised or non-personalised AI or machine-learning models.
- Where we use a third-party AI service provider to perform this processing, it acts only on our instructions and is contractually prohibited from using your data for its own purposes, including training its models.
Human access
No Subzillo employee reads your emails. Humans may only access Google user data (a) with your explicit consent for specific messages, for example when you ask our support team to investigate a problem; (b) where necessary for security purposes, such as investigating abuse; (c) to comply with applicable law; or (d) where the data has been aggregated and anonymised for internal operations.
Sharing
We do not sell Google user data. We do not use or transfer it for advertising, including personalised, retargeted or interest-based advertising, and we do not transfer it to data brokers or information resellers or use it to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes. We share Google user data only with service providers that help us run this feature (such as cloud hosting and AI processing), when required by law, or as part of a merger or acquisition with notice to you — and in every case only in line with the commitments in this section.
Storage, retention and deletion
- Google user data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and kept only for as long as it is needed to provide the feature to you.
- You can disconnect Gmail at any time from your Subzillo account settings, or by removing Subzillo at myaccount.google.com/permissions. When you disconnect Gmail, we stop accessing it immediately.
- When you disconnect Gmail or delete your Subzillo account, we delete the Google user data we hold, unless the law requires us to keep it. You can also request deletion at any time by emailing info@subzillo.com.
Subzillo's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
4. How we use it
We use the data above to:
- Show you a clear picture of your subscriptions, spending and renewals.
- Power Subzi AI's recommendations (e.g. "you haven't used this in 60 days").
- Let the AI Browser fetch, cancel, upgrade or downgrade subscriptions on your behalf — actions you trigger yourself.
- Send you product updates, renewal reminders and account notices.
- Improve reliability, security and performance.
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with carefully selected processors needed to run the service — for example, cloud hosting, AI processing, error reporting and payment processing. Data from your Google Account is additionally covered by the stricter commitments in section 3. Each is bound by contract to handle data on our instructions and to comparable security standards.
6. Where it lives
Account data and subscription records are stored on encrypted infrastructure operated by industry-standard cloud providers. Credentials used by the AI Browser are encrypted on your device and never transmitted to Subzillo servers.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have rights to access, correct, export or delete the data we hold about you. You can act on most of these directly from your account settings, or by emailing privacy@subzillo.com.
8. Cookies & analytics
This marketing website sets no advertising or tracking cookies. Traffic is measured with Plausible Analytics, which is cookie-free and records only aggregate, anonymised page views — it does not build a profile of you or follow you across sites, which is why you are not asked to accept a cookie banner here. We use no third-party advertising pixels. The Subzillo apps themselves may use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in; those are described at sign-up.
9. Children
Subzillo is not intended for users under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a minor has signed up, contact us and we will remove the account.
10. Changes to this policy
If we materially change how we handle data, we'll notify users by email and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
